Draft Sydney Plan

It’s been 8 years since the last metropolitan plan for Sydney was released and so much change has occurred during this time. So we are thrilled to see the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has just placed the Draft Sydney Plan on public exhibition!

The Plan provides much needed strategic guidance to help ensure planning for Sydney supports the delivery of more homes close to the things that matter – jobs, schools, transport, and open space.

In addition to the Draft Sydney Plan, the Department has also placed two other strategic planning documents on public exhibition:
– A Discussion Paper – Reforming the NSW Strategic Planning System which proposes a new strategic planning framework for NSW to make planning more consistent and equitable
– A Draft Statewide Policy for Industrial Lands – which seeks to protect and manage industrial land to support jobs, local manufacturing, and innovation.

Documents are on exhibition until 27 February 2026.
